Oakwood Country Club is a beautiful piece of property that is secluded from homes and other outside distractions.

True to an old country club course, the fairways are lined with mature trees and most greens are protected by 2 or 3 bunkers. Oakwood is a challenging 6,500 yard golf course that has well-manicured bent grass greens and zoysia fairways. Oakwood members enjoy the exclusivity and privacy of a NO TEE TIME championship golf course year round.

In 1912, the club employed Tom Bendelow, golf course designer for A.G. Spalding, to lay out nine holes to the east and south of the clubhouse. Tom had as much impact on the growth of golf as anyone in his time. Tom also helped design the courses at Mission Hills and Excelsior Springs, and did the first layouts of Medina Country Club outside Chicago.

In 1923, Oakwood laid out the additional 9 holes, and in 1991, Tom Watson assisted in the redesign of holes #5, #6, #7 and #8 to complete the golf course we have today.

Oakwood host several charity events and corporate outings throughout the year. If you would like to host yours at Oakwood please contact Randy Shade at (816) 761-3670 or randy@oakwoodcountryclub.org
